The stories I have saved on my hard drive are numerous. A truly enormous number of photographs from various travels and “photoadventures”. In 2012, me and Patricija decided to vacation in Greece – more precisely, on the island of Crete.

Since we truly dislike the usual tourist packages, sold by tourist agencies, we always rent a car instead, and explore the cities, villages, islands, etc. on our own. We avoid any tourist settlements, and only make a rough travel plan. We improvise the rest.

This time we came across an especially interesting village, similar on the outside to the village of Štanjel in Slovenia. As we arrived at the worst possible heat, the people were all hidden in the shadows trying to avoid the heat, or sitting in the village bar playing cards. Time seemed to have stopped in this village, the place looked like the inhabitants have never even heard of cellphones, laptops or Wi-Fi. It was as if we went back to 1970. The locals, all senior citizens, have given us a warm welcome at the bar, offered us coffee and were happy to chat with us.
